Kolb Virtual Breakfast Book Club provides a unique opportunity to spark an interest in reading and foster a lifelong enjoyment in our students. The Breakfast Book Club is open to students of all reading abilities in grades DK/K through 5th.

Some benefits of being a Kolb Virtual BBC member include:
  • Age-appropriate books to read and keep!
  • Development of discussion skills in a friendly, social setting while learning from the insight of others.
  • Sharing the love of books with friends.
Book selections will be easier in the fall and ramping up to more complex selections in the spring. The focus will be on books that children can make a connection to and books that are fun to read. The goal is to share ideas, laugh and have fun! The cost is $75.00 per child and includes 9 books that the student keeps. The books will be ordered and distributed to the students so the students can read the book before the book discussion.

Students will meet by grade with a parent volunteer who will lead the book discussions. A list of questions will be provided to parents and students a few days before the book discussion.  The parent volunteer will ask the students questions from the list.

Virtual Zoom book discussions will be scheduled for the first Thursday of the month from 7:45/7:50 to 8:10/8:15. (Please note that the September and October meeting dates are dependent on when the books arrive and can be distributed to the students.)

Thank you and we look forward to seeing your student in Breakfast Book Club.
